ABOUT ANNE O’BRIEN

Anne is a Southern California artist who specializes in performing music from The Great American Songbook. Her obvious commitment to the rich tradition of songwriting from some of the best composers of the 20th century distinguish her as an innovative interpreter of well known standards as well as rarely performed hidden gems she has unearthed over the years.

After an early retirement from a successful career in management consulting, Anne began singing and performing publicly in 2003. She entered the San Francisco Cabaret Contest that year and as a finalist entertained over 800 music patrons at Herbst Auditorium.

Since that time, Anne has performed regularly at a variety of venues in the San Francisco Bay Area. For over six years she performed several nights a month at The Donatello Hotel’s Zingari Ristorante. Sonoma County’s Mazzocco Winery featured her for several performances during their Summer Music Series, and she was a frequent performer at The Vin Club and The Village Inn, among others. Anne has provided entertainment for several private parties, including The San Francisco Orchid Society Gala in 2007.

After relocating to Los Angeles she performed regularly at Edwin Mills in Pasadena, California. She was also a member of the Ebell Club Chorale which performs at the Ebell Women’s Club and various hospitals and nursing facilities in the LA area. Anne has recently moved to La Quinta, California and is looking forward to exploring performance opportunities in the greater Palm Springs area.

Anne is very comfortable working with solo piano or guitar, a small ensemble or a larger band. Her intimate styling, attention to lyrics and casual elegance can shine in any type of setting and provides a highly personalized experience for her audiences.
